The Trust was invited to create a choir to sing at Swinfen Hall at a special lunch in December. It turns out that we have a considerable amount of musical talent amongst us we were able to field an impressive number of really good singers. Mike and May Brown sing in a church choir, Peter was a chorister when a school boy, Cliff has a fine voice and Bob is Welsh!
By the time the great day dawned we were ready for a rehearsal with Swinfen’s fabulous pianist, Chris Langdon ahead of our debut performance. We sang many old favourites including O Come All Ye Faithful and Away in a Manger. We found ourselves with a very nice audience.
Paul Marshall recorded our performance and a couple of carols can be seen in his video below. Thanks go to all the staff at Swinfen, especially Beth Hancock who arranged for us to sing and all the staff who kept us well fed with festive mince pies and hydrated with hot and cold drinks. We also want to thank Chris Langdon for all his help and patience. After the singing Stuart Kennedy, the hotel manager, presented Bob Williams with a generous donation from the hotel for our efforts.
